Digital Radiology (X-Rays)

Digital radiography is an essential tool for assessing:

  • Bone and joint abnormalities
  • Internal organs of the chest and thorax
  • Abdominal conditions
  • Breeding and orthopaedic assessments

High-quality imaging relies on precise positioning and expert technique. Our skilled veterinary team produces clear, detailed digital images that allow us to determine the next best course of action quickly and accurately.

We are also certified for breeding assessment radiographs, including imaging sent to the USA for interpretation as part of the PennHIP scheme.

X-rays are routinely used in both pre-surgical and post-surgical assessments, particularly for orthopaedic cases, to ensure optimal outcomes

Ultrasound is a non-invasive and highly valuable diagnostic tool used to examine:

  • Abdominal organs
  • Chest structures
  • Soft tissues such as tendons
  • Heart structure and function

At Motto Vet, ultrasonography is also used for:

  • Cystocentesis (sterile urine collection)
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsies and fine needle aspirates
  • Cardiology assessments, including ultrasound-guided pericardial drainage

All of our veterinarians are trained to perform ultrasound examinations. 

We are proud to offer state-of-the-art endoscopy at Motto Vet. Endoscopy uses a rigid or flexible tube with a video camera to view internal organs in real time, allowing for detailed investigation without invasive surgery.

Depending on the condition being assessed, the endoscope may be passed through the:

  • Mouth
  • Nostrils
  • Colon
  • Vagina

This technology allows us to perform thorough diagnostic examinations while minimising discomfort and recovery time.
